CODE PAGESHi all,
I am fresh in toad and in dba for oracle. I am confused have a data base oracle with an installation default and I am to use toad 9.1. Now I need to use a database with codepage UTF8. Toad uses codepage UTF8 default of the installation oracle or uses ASCII. It is possible in toad to change ASCII for UTF8.... Please it would like to be clarified... Thanks in advance Bests Regards, Fátima Ferreira Nokia Siemens Networks, S.A. GS CSI Consulting&Systems Integration tel: +351 21044 4135 fax: +351 214242150 |

RE: CODE PAGESMorning Fatima,

Toad's one major 'flaw' is that it is unable to handle UTF8/Unicode database character sets very well. This is unfortunate. I know that a lot of work is being done behind the scenes to get Toad up to date with Unicode but as yet, not much has been released. There is a special version of Toad - the International Version that does handle Unicode, however, if I remember correctly, if is based on Toad 8.x. You should contact your Toad Sales person to get advice and information on how to obtain a copy of this version. There is a thread here with information from the developers on the plans for Toad and Unicode : http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/toad/message/39928 The above information is, of course, subject to correction by the developers at Quest who know far more about it than I do! Cheers, Norm. [TeamT] Information in this message may be confidential and may be legally privileged.
