I am looking for a bike but am finding it difficult to locate one
locally. I have resorted to looking on the Internet. Attracted to 2
providers, Export Conection in Delhi India & Nova Classics USA. Has
anyone had any experience with these companies or buying on the web?

Can any one direct me to a supplier of used Royal Enfields in
Melbourne?

Shane,

Try the local distributor www.eurobrit.com.au - they're in
Greensborough. Don't know if they have any 2nd hand though.

Otherwise keep your eyes peeled on ebay - they crop up occasionally.

Try Graham Nelson in Kyneton....he usually keeps his ear to the ground or
join the Royal Enfield club of Australia its $20 bucks well spent and Ant
Mandrake is chief of the Melbourne mob, they have quite a big contingent
down there. Be very careful trying to get an Indian bike into Australia and
get it registered. Many have tried only to have customs destroy them or find
they have to on ship them to NZ and offload them there.

Some Indian dealers are best kept away from and you will end up with a heap
of snot and no correct paperwork. Contact the Aussie Enfield club they know
all the ins and outs of doing a grey import. Beware of a French based
Enfield mob selling Bullets on Australian Ebay

Also forget Madaan motors and Satakar imports see

Simon,

Thanks heaps for your comments and advise. It certainly sounded to good to be true, particularly in regards to both price and the guarantee of no difficulties in gaining approval for importation and registration. I was tempted though. Have you heard of any experiences with providers from the USA offering similar deals like Nova Classics.

Pete,
Thanks, I have been in contact with them but your right not available second hand. I also need to try and keep the cost at or below $7000. What do you ride and where did you source yours from?

Shane

I must confess I have not heard of a Bullet migrating from the States to
Australia, I imagine documentation still has to be correct, 2 guys in the NT
managed to get 2 bikes from India into the NT and get them on a classic
rego, but they went to India and bought them and arranged transportation and
paperwork themselves before they left. One is for sale below

Dallas Graetz

Darwin

NT

0812

2005 - 500 and 1964 bitsa 500

08 89275495

Dallas in Darwin wants $5900 AUD for his 2005 one

Bikepoint Australia has 6 used Bullets at the moment ranging from $4900 to
$7900

Hope this keeps you going

I'm doing some checking on Nova Classics myself.  So far it doesn't
look good.  The address they give in Arkansas apparently doesn't
exist!  They give 12800 Pleasant Ridge Rd and from what I can find the
numbers on that road only go up to 12500. Phone them and you get an
answering machine.  Looks to me like it's a front. Don't know what to
think.  Would like to here from someone who has actually gotten a bike
from them.  hope this helps- Jim

Try Classic Style Australia  in Seaford . They had 4
beautifully restored ones 3/4 months ago , not sure of dollars but may
be able to point you in some direction . Eurobrit probably can't help
Classic style are importing old classic bikes and if there was a bit
of interest shown in Enfields I am sure they would look out for them.
