Hi, upstream pm-utils maintainer here:
My current plan to deal with the bug reports floating around on the
Intel kernel modesetting breakage is to modify 98smart-kernel-video to
still pass the --quirk-s3 parameters if they are present, and filter out
the rest of the quirks. This code is already checked into the
pm-utils-1.1 branch upstream -- if you want to test it, just replace
your 98smart-kernel-video with the latest one on that branch.
The nvidia and fglrx drivers will still be quirk-free in all cases.
I plan on releasing pm-utils-1.1.2.4 with these fixes next Sunday or
Monday, depending on what else is happening in my life at the time.
