A HUGE thank you to everyone that participated in Brickworld 2008.  Once again,
the event was a great success because of your efforts, your donations and your
artistic & engineering talents.

We never thought we could top the feel of Brickworld 2007.  But, the "spirit" of
Brickworld continues to grow and it is very exciting!!

Some quick highlights:

Matt DeLanoy voted the Brickworld Master for his creations

$3,000 raised for charity at the auction

Registered attendance up from 242 in 2007 to 335 in 2008

Display space increased from 15,000 square feet to 20,000 square feet

So many raffle prizes that we drew EVERY ticket from the bucket

MOCs, MOCs and more MOCs.  All table space was filled 3 weeks before the event

Front page coverage in the Chicago Daily Herald

Watch for pictures and other details if you missed the event.  We have already
started working on the 2009 event.  Mark your calendars now and start planning.
If we sustain the present growth rate, space will be filled earlier next year.

Thank you again for everything.  It is a wonderful thing when a community comes
together.

Start your planning for the new ["World of Lights"] collaboration announced at
the awards ceremony.  We are already working on our MOCs.

We look forward to seeing you in Chicago!!!

Regards, the Brickworld Team

[Brickworld] will be held June 18 -21, 2009 at the Westin North Shore Hotel in
Wheeling, IL (a suburb of Chicago).

Stacy and I second this.  The whole Brickworld Team deserves a huge round of
applause for all the hard work and long hours you put in to make this a
spectacular event.  Everything just seemed to run so smoothly and it seemed that
every detail and concern was addressed and attended to.  Great job!

We're working on sorting through the hundreds of pictures we took.  They will be
posted on our Flickr feed very soon.

Thanks again for everything.  This was ToT-LUG's first event and we had an
absolute blast.  We met so many great people and realized that we really aren't
alone out there.  On our way home, Stacy and I discussed Adam's "bonded by the
brick" comments and came to the conclusion that he is absolutely right.  It's
amazing how a small injection molded toy can bring so many people together and
spark so many innovative ideas.

Can't wait to see you all next year!
