How low can people get, locally recently a young child had a special
wheelchair stolen. Things are really coming apart.

I know. Even some of the recent Poppy Day (veterans) collections
were stolen, which is lower than snake-belly low

I'm really surprised that there isn't much vigilante-ism

Although this tagger got his just desserts, to most peoples' delight

How about -

Thieves trash garden after TV makeover

A woman rewarded for her community spirit with a television
show garden makeover was devastated when the new plants
and ornaments were stolen just a day later....

...police were incensed by the actions of the "ultra low-life"

Yeah, well I think I enjoy using it more than the child did.

Here is an strange bicycle theft story...

My dad was a policeman in Buffalo, NY. The federal government instituted a
program where they funded police cars that would be taken home by policemen,
something about a more visible police presence in the community.

Well, one evening my dad's police cruiser was parked in our driveway while
we ate supper.

Some lowlife actually walked past the car into our back yard to steal my
brand-new 10-speed English racer bicycle.

What people will do!

Recently had a discussion (heated debate) about words used to describe meals.

My Take is

Breakfast Usually 7:00 Thats easy First meal of the day.
Morning Tea about 9:00 if you had Breaky then this is a snack usually
involving tea or coffee
Brunch First about 10:00 meal of the day but later than breaky
Lunch Usually 12:00
AfterNoon Tea 15:00 same as morning tea
Dinner 18:00 Main meal
Supper 21:00 a snack before bed

I think I have heard Dinner or the main meal refered to as Tea and
Supper so I figure it must be a local use thing.  Whats common in your
area

Dinner is traditionally a major meal eaten in the evening
(1800 on your timetable).

When we used to visit my (now long since dead) grandmother,
if she served a hot meal at midday, she would refer to is as
"Dinner mid day"
