Basic approval process

How can I set up the basic approval process in FarCry? User 1 = contributor 1 updates a content page in the draft version, asking then for approval via the button "Request Approval" and chooses a member of the publisher group. When I login as a publisher, I did not see any notification in "Content Items Pending Approval" and I didn´t receive an email. How can I set up this notification process?
