Audacity Recording Problem

To members working at Audacity.

I've just installed the Audacity (Version 1.2.6) and I'm pretty new to it.

I'm using Windows XP Home Edition on a laptop.

The problem I'm facing is that the scroll-down menu on the top-right-hand
corner only shows "Line In" and "Microphone" but I couldn't find " Wave
Outmix", therefore I can't record anything.

Could you please tell me the solution to this problem?

Please follow the instructions on the FAQ:

which say:

"On Windows, if you don't have a “Wave Out” or “Stereo Mix” option,
or if it won't record, go to the system Control Panel and try to enable
this option there. For instructions see: Using the Control Panel on the Wiki"
