Advice on upgrading a very old version of Cake?

I've been given a live site that was built on an older version of
cake.   I don't know the exact version, but I suspect it was back from
around 2006.

First question:  is there any way to determine exactly what version of
Cake it was based on the files in the install?

From that, I may have follow-ups as to advice/best practice on
upgrading from what may be a pre-1.0 version to something more
recent.

Thanks,
Greg K

Hi,
There should be a version.txt in the cake/cake folder. If not then it
may be a really old version :)
Migrations help has been discussed a few times lately. You should find
some general advice by searching for it here.

You should expect a bit more migration issues if your current version
is 1.0 or even older. Still, it is not too difficult.

Ha! There is no cake/cake folder.  Closest in this install is cake/
docs, with several .txt files from late 2005.  But no version.txt file
there.   So I guess this is really old version.

Thanks for the tip, though.
