I was amazed that you brought it down that much... especially with a darini. Strategy is buying a bottle of fine wine when you take a lady out for dinner. Tactics is getting her to drink it. I had Brathe take Kughar down easily, and then I fought Chaor w/ Brathe, and I had a good start, but then I drew dead. Then Chaor decimated Malvadine, and I got him to about 15 or 20 energy with Marquis Darini. It was competitive, to say the least.

Him and the Marquis makes a great team together! :) Actually, Chaor and Maxxor can be an easy bet, if your lucky (in other word, if you get the Lucky Shot!). This, with the Prince, may hit for 40 (Attack Card) + 20 (Invisibility) + 5 (Marquis) = 65! Sure, you need to get lucky for that, but even without the Lucky Shot, doing more that 25 damage on your first attack is always nice! :) I hope we'll get Mugic and Locations pretty soon: This will help even more to beat up the stronger creatures (Adding Orb of Futuresight and Song of Futuresight to the strategy mentionned above, for exemple).
