AMD64/ubuntu problems

Hello Linux-LightZoners,

I have got my new AMD64 dualcore system and successfully installed ubuntu feisty
in the amd64 version on it. However I was not able to master the LightZone
difficulties:

After LightZone's splashscreen a Confirm-Window pops up and tells me
      Couldn't link with native library: "DCRaw... wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32
same goes on with libSegment.so, LibJAL.so, libLCJPEG.so and so on

Is there any solution for this problem, or do I have to downgrade my ubuntu to a
32bit version?

Regards - Markus

OK, found a solution myself:

Installed via apt ia32-sun-java6-bin and run lightzone from the commandline with

INSTALL4J_JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/ia32-java-6-sun/jre ./LightZone

(given I am in the LightZone installation folder)

I think this should go to the FAQs

Hi Markus,

I had this same problem with Kubuntu Edgy.  I ended up installing the complete LightZone package and running from the version of Java that came with it rather than the 64bit Java version.  Since then I have installed 32bit Feisty.  Mostly to get Flash to run on Firefox.

Regards,

Frank.
