A bug in the current stable release

Hello,
I download my statement in OFX format from my bank site.
During the review of each operation I add/ modify some notes. All  notes appear in the ledger.
When making a report the notes don't display or are incomplete (as downloaded only) and don't include the modification.
This is a real problem for me.
Any trick?
Philip

Hello Philippe,
what version of KMyMoney are you using and what report are you running?

Perhaps the memo are stored in a different split than the one you are looking at.
Did you try a report which shows all splits for each transaction?

Regards,
Alvaro

Thanks, Philippe
I'm CC'ing the mailing list.

Thomas, do you think this is related to the bug we are currently looking at on the memos?
The reports do no particular handling of the memos, though that may have changed from 0.8.8 to current CVS.

Regards,
Alvaro

Hello,
Thanks for quick response.
I'm using version 0.8.8-CVS from Mandriva depot using KDE 3.5.9.
Any report will have this bug provided I add the column "note". Some notes will be incomplete or display a "." (dot) instead of the real note
See below the screenshot.
the line 21 may KUHN, 27 May LALLEMAND, 3 june with the "dot"in the note column. This is the report by operations.

Now the ledger: see  21 may KUHN , 27 may LALLEMAND and 3 june. there is a text in the note.

Hope it help

Philippe

Yes, I think so.

@Philippe: please try the following: edit one of the offending transactions.
Open the split editor (even though the transaction is not split) and check if
you see the same text in the memo field of the split or another one. If it is
a different one, then it matches the bug we are currently looking at. Change
the in the split editor and save the split, then press finish (only one split
is ok at that point). Save the transaction and see if the report changes as
well. Please let us know, what you find out.

There were some larger changes between the 0.8 branch and 0.9 in general. I am
not sure if that was related to memo, but it certainly involved split
handling a lot.

Hello,
Do you have some news regarding this bug?
when the note wrongly shows a "." it s because the split show a ".". If I remove the dot and modify the text in the split then it works but i can't edit the split for all operations!!
How to make a report showing the spli? i did not find this option.
regards
Philippe

This might not be available in the 0.8 branch.  I am not sure.  Anyway, the
split stuff is fixed in CVS-HEAD.

p.s. Can you please instruct your Thunderbird to send text mails only? I
hate this insecure HTML crap. Merci beaucoup.
