Here's something from a newb -- oddly inspired by the ugliest living room carpet in the world.

A Darker Shade of Green

I remember falling on my knees to pray
Now the burn of the carpet stings
As the ground meets my knees once again
And I scream "Oh God, why me?"
Questioning existence
Practicing belligerence
Ruining my sanctity
Losing sight of my sanity
And I scream "Oh God, why me?"
My tears stain this rug
A darker shade of green
A shade to match my envy
A testament to my jealousy
The words I write come out all wrong
So I’ll live my life through another’s song
And I scream "Oh God, why me?"
Cry out to this entity
In which I don’t believe
My stomach is a thousand knots
And the acid makes me sick
An exorcism is in order.
Demon out. Demon out.
My thoughts are all in disarray.
Put them down in black and white
Hope for clarity to materialize
History dictates that efforts are futile
And history always repeats
War after war after war after...
So I’m scripting new chapters
With this internal battle
I versus I thus I’m bound to lose
Pulling out my hair with my left hand
Ripping out my heart with the right
And I scream "Oh God, why me?"
Oh God... why?

I like your carpet poem, but honestly if I hated my carpet that much, I'd rip it out and start over.
