I just did a quick test with RLPF.  I changed all variables from  
floats to doubles and did a filter sweep from 3000 to 50Hz in 20  
seconds.  compared to the float version to me it sounded slightly  
wider (I detuned two pulses a little) and a little less rough even in  
the high end.  a bit more 'analog' you might say.  it is subtle though.

the main advantage of 64 bit would be that you can use functions to
generate sound:

along the lines of:

f = { |t| sin(t * 100pi) };
f.(Sweep.ar)
