5.2 release planningI'd like to start planning for the 5.2 release.
The only things I know of that are outstanding are: 1) Any remaining cleanup from the big data conversion 2) Add the Stylus Photo 1900 printer (this has been on hold for a while) 3) Mike Sweet has a few things he's going to be adding 4) Miscellaneous bug fixes Does anyone else have anything they'd like to get into 5.2? -- Robert Krawitz <rlk@...> Tall Clubs International -- http://www.tall.org/ or 1-888-IM-TALL-2 Member of the League for Programming Freedom -- mail lpf@... (absolutely NOT an outstanding issue) I'm in the process of writing a (big) mail, about my experience with the 3 "new" Epson commands (paper weight, vertical feed adjustment, vacuum intensity) and their effect on the Epson Stylus Pro 11880 with Gutenprint 5.2.0b3. I hope to finish it later today or tomorrow morning (french hour), but... the main news is: The Epson Stylus Pro 11880 works *beautifully* if you use the standard Epson Stylus Pro 7600 PPD (just add 44 and 64 inches roll paper to the paper list, for completeness:-) The result is even of higher quality than on the 7600 (better mechanical precision -> more accurate drop placement...). Visually (for a newbie in the printing world), both printers output similar color intensity, although, afaik, the 11880 small drop size is advertised as different (3.5pl) than the 7600's (4.0pl). Imho, you can already add this printer to your "handled printers" list !-) All my tests were performed with the highest possible quality settings (2880x1440 DPIs, unidirectional mode, "best" RIP settings, "Photo" image type, Premium Glossy paper, ...) I've added a definition for the 11880. I've also added the 7800, 7880, 9800, and 9880 as clones of their equivalents. If we need to change the density or ink drop settings for the x800 and x880 printers, we can do so. -- Robert Krawitz <rlk@...> Tall Clubs International -- http://www.tall.org/ or 1-888-IM-TALL-2 Member of the League for Programming Freedom -- mail lpf@...
