I have an old Windows plugin that our company wrote for 4D 6.8. It relies on PA_UseMacCharacters and stores text in external files using the Macintosh encoding. I am trying to get this to work correctly so that I can read the old files in 4D 2004. The problem is with Central European character encodings. 4D appears to be doing a conversion based on the Western encoding rather than the Central European encoding. In 6.8, we could control which encoding was used for the translation by using Customizer Plus and setting the Translation Localization value to Czech Republic.
How can I deal with this in 2004? Are there different versions of 4D for different languages, that I should be using?
Thanks.
