This is not a tech@ problem, see misc@.
- Do you see any kernel messages (in blue) after the
'install/upgrade/shell' part?
- Does the kernel hang, or the install program? Use ^Z to find out...
('fg' returns you to the installer)
- Where's your dmesg? If it really is a kernel problem, someone else
will need that (I don't really do hardware, I'm afraid). Note that the
install kernel is pretty useful; you could, for instance, eject the
install floppy, mount a new one on /floppy, and copy the dmesg; or use
ftp and a local ftp server; or...
- Are you aware that 4.1 will be out Real Soon Now? Getting some
experience is probably useful, but you'll want your 'real' install to
be 4.1. Who knows, if you have a driver problem, it's quite likely to
be solved in 4.1.
