was the last church camp I ever allowed myself to be forced marched to and they lied to me about getting to watch the Moon Landing. Here's the video- http://youtube.com/watch?v=5QS3JSRGk3o Here's a better one of Buzz Aldrin punching some punk out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEvR-c60Na4&eurl=http://ace.mu.nu/ Hard to believe it was that long ago! Re: 39 years ago tonight - where were you?Brad, I guess this is one of those life moments, isn't it? I was at
the Boy Scout Jamboree in Farragut State Park, Idaho. Neil Amrstrong said hi to us from the moon (the next day, I think). I was a 2d LT in Seoul, Soth Korea on a 3 day pass from supporting/guarding the Korean DMZ, and watched it on an outside tv, along with many others, mostly Korean Nationals. Remember being quite proud to be an American soldier at the time of the broadcast - the Koreans in my immediate area were awestruck as well - which was unusual given the general disposition of urban Koreans toward the occupying GIs at the time (but that's a whole different story). > -------------- Original message ---------------------- > From: "Brad Haslett" <flybrad@...> >> Do you remember where you were 39 years ago tonight? Re: 39 years ago tonight - where were you?Ah yes, remind me to tell some stories from Itaewon and the Nashville Club
in Seoul. On the other hand, they may not be fit for a sailor's bar. Thanks for the memories! Re: 39 years ago tonight - where were you?I remember it very well. I was 12 and was at home watching TV. From where
I sat in the living room I could see the moon through the window. I kept glancing back and forth from the TV to the window in utter amazement. It was also at that time when I reckoned how very old I'd be in the year 2000.
