2003 Virago in storage, won't start

Hey all - new to forum.  Have a 2003 Virago and it has had to be stored for about a month.  It ran fine before storage.  Took it out last weekend and added gas, charged battery and it sounds as if it's trying to turn over a couple of times and then it just "clicks".  I took battery to the local Yamaha Dealer and had it tested, said Battery is OK and holds a charge with no dead cells, etc.  It has H20 in battery.

Any other suggestions?  I am charging battery again today and am going to try and push-start it Sunday.  Do I need to prime the carb? What else could it be?

Thanks,
RB a.k.a. "Newbie"

given the battery tested good at the dealership i would ask how old the battery is..if the bike charging and ignition systems are operating as they should then look to the weak link..as new as your bike is corrosion should not be an issue, if two years or older, a new battery would be in order.. as a precaution you could spray a little wd-40 in the sparkplug holes,,be careful pulling the bike to start...keep us posted yg

Yamaguzzi:

Thanks for the tip, I was trying to avoid the $75 my dealer wants for a new btty.  I'll try the WD-40 and see if that helps.  Thanks again,
RB

ive heard the gel batteries last up to 5 years ....also the wd40 is to give a little lubrication for thsat first startup..thats when the most wear occurs...anyway good luck be safe yg

If the bike cranks over and over then quickly slows and just "clicks" then the starter is not getting sufficient power. Either due to a bad connection, or the battery is not holding a charge.

If you have been cranking and cranking then the eventually battery dies, then the bike is not firing up. Either due to no fuel or no spark.
