...further antville dev (tag implementation)@nighthawk:

Yes, that's what I also read. Because of that I worked with this kind of tag implementation that is derived from Tobis "labels branch" instead of implementing a n:m relation over a relations table like Philipp suggests. The implementation over a relations table / prototypes seems to be the "cleaner" version from a object-relational perspective. But maybe it leads to some performance issues that I can't really estimate with my experience.... It would be good to hear Tobis ideas about that :) >i tried both things.. with a special focus on the tags.. and the >implementation on typolis.net is still quite a bit different from the >one in your source.. existant tags can not be added to an existing >story and as soon as you save an existing story again its tagfree.. >but that might be because you're shipping the default antville layout >and not the one you're on typolis.net, which seems to be more >optimized for the tags.. >other than that i would personally like to see tags/labels in antville >aswell :) You're right. The tags functionality depends on some javascript and skins that are implemented within the typolis layout. The code therefore is just for giving an idea how tags implementation could be done and should not be considered as a installable/runnable application. I just wanted to contribute to the discussion for further tags implementation in antville. ---- @philipp: >@Samuel: I would be interested have you just merged the two branches or >have you done some major modifications? I'm not so happy with the >implementation, because I dont understand why a Label (Tag) is a Story >(TEXT). I think this should be independant, but thats just imho. I merged the two branches and extended and modified the Label/Tag functionality. At some point we decided to use our own designs in the skins we had to built. So the code can be messed up in some places. I implemented the tags this way, because it was already started in this manner in the "label branch" (see above). But this kind of implementation is surely a point of discussion. cu, sam -- . ) ( ) , ) ) ( /( ( ))\ (( ( /( ( /( )\())( ´` /(( )) )\ ')( )))( )| ))/)\ ,---.___ _ __ _____ ____,-,_ __ _\_ -/ / | | |/ _ / _ /_ _/ _ \ (_____)__/_,_,_|__,_|__,_||__|\___/ - Geschwister-Scholl-Straße 5 - 99423 Weimar / Germany - www.sumaato.net - 03643/479061 _______________________________________________ Antville-dev mailing list Antville-dev@... http://helma.org/mailman/listinfo/antville-dev |
