Is anyone else experiencing performance problems with the release version of NetBeans 6.0?  I keep find it freezing when I select text or sometimes some other activity in JSP files.

The overall performance of JSP was one of the concerns I had in one of the polls we got NC points for completing. If it hasn't gotten better since I filled that out, then I can imagine it is pretty bad, but I haven't tried it at all since then as I have been too busy. I hope is has improved over the experience I had back then. This on a system which I have edited and worked on 220 NB RCP projects at one time without the heap going over 400MB, and was why the JSP editor was such a shock at the time. I hope to get a chance to try it out again soon.

Hi
I find it slow at different stages like start-up, compile and running a project from the IDE.

Regards,
Mortoza

I have noticed NB consuming a bunch of resources when switching between Java | JSP | Design views.  This lasts several seconds is all - but the system is frozen for that brief time, then it recovers.  I have installed https://visualvm.dev.java.net/ and am waiting for that next system freeze (longer than a few seconds)!  I submitted one IssueZilla attaching a thread dump from VisualVM.  I felt the engineers got a lot of information from it.  Best, David

In that case you all can vote for this

http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=123441

This can be included in patch1 perhaps.

Hangs? Where is the thread dump, then?
http://wiki.netbeans.org/wiki/view/GenerateThreadDump

What kind f file were you renaming? Were you changing extension?
JSP involved by a chance?
