/Library/Application Support/Extensions bug?

I just noticed that the directories contained inside the root Library
aren't traversed... has this always been the case?

e.g.

/Library/Application Support/Extensions/ALib/someClass.sc

won't be compiled in!

I get things compiling several folders deep and have done for as long
as I can remember, so if this has changed it's changed recently.

It seems recent to me as well... I was trying to set up computers at
school an noticed it, and testing on my own computer shows it with SVN
from a couple days ago.

By the ay, my main extensions are in ~/Library, so I wouldn't have
noticed a change when it happened.

Doesn't happen for me. I have rev 7669 and rev 7670 on my computer
here and they both respond perfectly well to a class placed at

 /Library/Application\ Support/SuperCollider/Extensions/Boople.sc

There was a change recently, in which the list of folders to ignore
was extended to avoid ".svn" and ".git" folders:
<http://supercollider.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/supercollider/trunk/Source/common/SC_DirUtils.cpp?r1=7645&r2=7646>
It would be really weird if this was hitting you, but I mention it
since it *is* a change to do with skipping directories. You don't have
some strangely-configured SCM of your extensions folders do you? I
can't imagine a situation in which you'd be softlinking to the inside
of a ".svn" folder...

That works for me as well... can you place the class in one more
directory? Say:

/Library/Application\ Support/SuperCollider/Extensions/test/Boople.sc

And no... I created the dir tonight, just for the test.

Any directory called "test" is skipped. Is that what's causing it for you?

Directories are skipped if their full name (case insensitive) is one of:
  test
  help
  .svn
  .git
  _darcs

and also "linux" and "windows" are skipped on Mac (while "windows" and
"osx" are skipped on linux, etc).

I must say, I've never found this intuitive, and I'm not surprised it
causes problems for people. 'disabled' or 'ignore' would make more
sense.
