Jan,

I also have an ipaq 314 and managed with Davids files to run his version
of XCSoar on my device. As well, I tried to tweak the fonts and the
interface .xci a bit to make it more useable.
The modified .prf and .xci are attached (hopefully) - but *only* use at
your own risk and *only* after backup, because I really am a novice
here. I installed XCSoar on the SD-Card, works fine. The new .xci brings
up a basic menu on every tap on the info boxes - double-clicking during
flight is neigh impossible, but this really works nicely. I use the
landscape mode because the vario in my case is largely useless and takes
up far too much space.

Also, using some of the dlls you can find on the internet, I managed to
run the newest  ppc2003 CAB versions from sourceforge.. although the
directories used are different from Davids, that can become confusing.

I will need to look into this properly, did not have the time yet (and
set up another list of feature wishes ;-) . Any feedback or better ideas
are welcome. I think the ipaq has an amazing screen and works really
well here. XCSoar is amazing (my first season with PDA, until now I used
the good ole GPS90) - great work, folks.

Regards,
Yves

Then it was no problem to communicate with the internal GPS on COM7. But using the software keyboard in a glider is no solution and  I had still problems with the data files. I was thinking of giving it up when I tried the compiled version of Dave and this worked at once!

First it run from the SD card but now I have it also working installed in the internal ResidentFlash directory. No I have only some small problems that sometimes the fonts are too big and not all the data is working.
