[Fwd: Problem converting gpx -> nmea]

Hello,

I recently bought a Garmin Venture HC.
When I download the files using GPSBABEL and directly convert the file 
to nmea (input: USB, output: nmea), every line within the nmea file 
starts with "---,$GP".
The same thing happens, when I try to convert an existing gpx-file to nmea.
Can someone plaese help me?
