[Feedback] Amarok 2Josue sent a message using the contact form at
http://amarok.kde.org/en/contact. Amarok 2 is pretty!! It looks great, i love the new interactive playlist and the way you can add scripts. It's plain beautiful. But it lacks a lot of stuff that was on amarok 1.4. I would love to see the "Stop after song" or "Stop after queue", and some other stuff. The interactive playlist should be subordinated to the search field, so when you have something on the searchfield the playlist gets its items from it and not from your whole collection. Plus it has some bugs w/ radiostations, when you're play a radiostation it plays for a few seconds before jumping to the next song on the playlist. I've been using Amarok 2 since mandriva 2009 came out, so aftear a month of trying I downgraded back to amarok 1.4.10 as it suits better my needs. It's a shame i couldn't find what i needed in amarok 2. It is really cute Report as inappropriate: http://amarok.kde.org/en/mollom/contact/bcac221f89a5733d _______________________________________________ Amarok mailing list Amarok@... https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/amarok |

Re: [Feedback] Amarok 2Hi Josue,
Thank you for your feedback. While we at Amarok HQ all love Amarok 2, we are very aware that for some users, there are featured from 1.4.x missing in the initial 2.0.0 release that they cannot live without. Most of these features were not removed because we think that they are don't worthwhile, but simply have not been ported to Amarok 2 yet. I highly recommend reading Mark's excellent blog post on the topic of missing features. Your decision to stick with 1.4.x for now is most likely what is right for you, but hopefully, many of the features that you are missing will be added to Amarok 2 soon after the initial 2.0.0 release. One thing that you should be aware of though, is that Mandriva 2009 shipped with a pre beta 2 version of Amarok 2, and there are a _huge_ number if bugfixes that has happened since then. - Nikolaj On Mon, Nov 10, 2008 at 5:53 AM, <liberal_hottie@...> wrote: > Josue sent a message using the contact form at > http://amarok.kde.org/en/contact. > > Amarok 2 is pretty!! FYI, we're currently rolling out updates to KDE 4 for 2009 and I'll be trying to convince people that amarok updates will be well worth while in that area too. It's certainly a whole lot better since then! -- Colin Guthrie gmane(at)colin.guthr.ie http://colin.guthr.ie/ Day Job: Tribalogic Limited [http://www.tribalogic.net/] Open Source: Mandriva Linux Contributor [http://www.mandriva.com/] PulseAudio Hacker [http://www.pulseaudio.org/] Trac Hacker [http://trac.edgewall.org/] _______________________________________________ Amarok mailing list Amarok@... https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/amarok |

It's plain beautiful. Thankyou very much =) We've worked very hard on the new version. (I say we, I'm fairly new to Amarok, so I've got to give the credit to those who deserve it!) > But it lacks a lot > of stuff that was on amarok 1.4. A lot of the features have gone missing in the upgrade as Amarok has been effectively coded form scratch. But rest assured, the majority of features you're missing are on their way for 2.1. We have dropped a few elements, but we've added a whole lot more and nothing has been dropped without good reason. And wit the new scripting interface, its possible to bring almost anything back in as a script. > Plus it has some bugs w/ radiostations, when you're play a > radiostation it plays for a few seconds before jumping to the next song on > the playlist. Amarok 2.0 is still in beta testing. It's not quite ready for release yet. Hopefully most of the problems you have been experiencing will have been fixed by the time 2.0 is released. > > I've been using Amarok 2 since mandriva 2009 came out, so aftear a month of > trying I downgraded back to amarok 1.4.10 as it suits better my needs.
