Hey guys... Where are the playlist features and details that in Amarok 2???

Thats one of the best features in Amarok 1.4.x

I'm running Amarok 2 Beta 2.... but i don't find it nearly as convenient or
as powerful as Amarok 1.4.9.   Looks like i'm gonna be switching back.  I do
appreciate the other feature you put in...widgets, phonon, plasma stuff...but
you've taken out some of the best things of Amarok 1.4.  Was this the plan?
or they still waiting to be implemented.  Can someone please let me know.

Thanks,

Zubin Singh Parihar

Im not sure about playlist features, but as for the details (assuming your
talking about details about a track) chek out the widgets in Beta3. They cover
pretty much everything that was in 1.4.9 as far as I recall.

The great thing about the widgets, and the new scripting interface, is that
anyone can write a widget to show almost any information they like. We already
have widgets that show the lyrics and wikipedia entries as in 1.4, but the
possibilities are endless.

As for some of the other features, there are some, such as the equalizer, that
we cant implement yet. In this case we are waiting for phonon to give us the
functionality. Other features have been dropped because they have been seen as
too inconsequential to include and just bloat the player. Many of these
features can be implemented as a script if anyone misses them too much ;)

I hope you can find what you are looking for in Amarok 2, and I suggest you try
out Beta 3 as it has moved on a lot from Beta 2.

Thanks for your comments. Rest assured they haven't gone unnoticed =)

I know a few people that would really love to see some sort of quick search
in the playlist. I've been looking for ways to archive this myself but as
far as I can currently see the Script API doesn't support the needed
options for such a feature. I've been looking into other ways to do it, but
sadly I don't have the skills to change anything in the code regarding the
playlist and the manipulation of it. ;-)
