This email is to inform you about the release of version '4.0.0-rc1' of
'dhcpcd' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can

The changes in this release are as follows:
This version supports link carrier detection and can background
immediately. Configuration can now be stored in a file. Apple's
Bonjour conformance tests are now passed. The DHCP parsing code was
rewritten and is 15K smaller. It is now compatible with dhclient style
scripts. NetworkManager 0.7.0 is supported. InfiniBand and Firewire
are now supported along with Ethernet.

Project description:
dhcpcd is an RFC2131-, RFC2132-, and RFC1541-compliant DHCP client
daemon. It gets an IP address and other information from the DHCP
server, automatically configures the network interface, and tries to
renew the lease time according to RFC2131 or RFC1541.
