Same here :(  we said we could host a 40-50 person event (event larger
if we could get enough people, if needed)

No reply :(

several people have told me the same thing. I know a particular person
is supposed to be reading that line and responding to the messages, but
this does not appear to be happening. I've recently sent a mail to
various people pointing out the problem in the hopes of getting
something done about it.

This is not an excuse for not answering, but as the distro was only
finished one week ago, the CDs/DVDs do not exist yet so they would not
have been sent anyway...

Not only a problem with CD; in my mail I was also asking for advertising
materials (posters; anything I can print; pointers...) ; time is becoming
very short for that now :(

No response yet :-( the people from my university are dissapointed
with the lack of info, i think they have reason, is a shame.

Adam, Caroline answered me, but before Mandriva 2008.0 was out.
Now i need some answers to questions i sent her in private. Before
Install party we're preparing (well it's almost near to the date) our
Linux Day next October, 27th (same date all over Italy), I will install
Mandriva.....

Cheers,

So, any news? in my University another guy from Ubuntu is also making
a Install Fest, they already have the cds (hundreds) i think i will
have to cancel the Mandriva Install Party in El Salvador because i
have no info at all, and the rector wants it, to take me seriosly.

I think Mandriva is a better distro than the one for humans, but this
really dissapoint me :-(

Me neither... i have sent my data but i didn't get any answer from mandriva, not a word. If I have not received any answer in early november i will be forced to cancel the install fest here en Chiapas, México. I hope that would not be necesary but i need an answer.

Greetings Leonardo.

I have been assured that someone specific is in fact reading all the
emails and will be sending out the materials. I already made your point
(that people don't feel confident arranging their events until they
actually have the stuff in hand). I also said it would be a good idea to
send out an acknowledgement in advance of sending out the materials. I
don't know if they're going to take either of these points into account.

I plane to orgenize the event in Israel - Should I expect a load of
non-localized One CD's to arrive few days before the actual date or will
Mandriva send a full (free?) version?

But how can they send to me the CDs if they dont know nothing about
me, not my name or my address?, my problem is that Mandriva dont send
to me a response at all i sent like a 10 mails during a month and no
one of them receive response so  i really dont know nothing.

They dont know my name or my address i put info in the wiki about the
place for the installation but not my personal address.

yes. the problem is that I keep getting responses from people high up
the chain *saying* that Person X is handling all the mails, but Person X
never actually mails me to tell me exactly what they are doing about
them...

Adam shouldn't be better to postpone it?

I, for sure, will lose goodies for our Linux Day but we can have all
for the install party.... I believe

as I thought was obvious, I can think of about two dozen different ways
to handle the whole shebang better, but I'm not in charge of it nor do I
have any control over it, so it's a bit pointless asking me. :)
