Hi,
I am a newbie trying to install and use cint.
I downloaded the Source Package of CINT from http://root.cern.ch/root/Cint.html. Downloaded version was cint5.16.tar.gz .Size of downloaded zip file is 1918 KB.
Then I tried to compile the downloaded source package taking help from README.txt.But to my surprise I found that platform Folder was not present.
Since Platform folder is missing I could not proceed further.

I will be using "Microsoft Visual C++ .NET Ver.7.1".

Could you pls. tell me if I am downloading the correct version of CINT or is it something really silly that I am missing.

Regards,
Sundeep Prakash

Hi,

since a few months, CINT is built using cygwin's bash and gmake. Go to
www.cygwin.com, and install the basic setup, including bash and make.
Then cd to where you unpacked CINT to, and run ./configure && make.

Cheers, Axel.
