[ANNOUNCE] t2 8.0 trunk GCC-4.3 ISOHi all, recently I took a look how much changes a GCC-4.3 update would require, and sadly way more than usual - mostly due to the new MFPR dependency and new cross build breakage. However, I saved the resulting x86-64 ISO for others to start playing with a pure GCC-4.3 systesms: http://osiris.tfh-berlin.de/mirror/t2/unstable/8.0-trunk/ The GCC-4.3 update is not in trunk due to quite some more integration work being left, but 8.0 - to be released this year - will probably be based on it. http://www.t2-project.org/releases/ PS: 7.0-final release is emminent, if we would have more reliable internet on the CeBIT it woudl already be out, now I wait for the next free timeslot to finalize the pre-built ISOs with Aldas latest security and bug fixes. The 7.0-trunk is in a pretty production state and entered the bug- & security-fix only mode. Re: [ANNOUNCE] t2 8.0 trunk GCC-4.3 ISOHi all, I just wanted to let you know that over the last weeks we fixed not only the minimal subset for GCC-4.3 we released in the early adopter technology preview, but additional the whole extended desktop package subset. This email is already typed from a core2 duo optimized desktop flavour with GCC-4.3, including X.org, Firefox to Thunderbird ... However, mostly due to the new MPFR dependency, cross compiling GCC (canadian cross) became a whole lot more difficult and requires more T2 adaption than I would like. So the update commit of our gcc package to 4.3.0 is still some days off, until I - or someone else - finds the time to finalize some deeper restructuring.
