New York City Regional 4D Developers Group - Jan 2008

Please pardon the lateness of this announcement. This month we are
trying something a bit different. In addition to a useful and
informative 4D specific presentation, we will have a case study
workshop segment on Business Process Analysis (by a specialist from
outside the 4D community). This is a trial at broadening the the
range of information presented at our meetings. So, please come out
to the meeting, and let us know what you think.

Date: Wednesday, Jan. 16, Hours: 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Location: Saint Peter's Church at The Citicorp Center (see below for
complete directions)

Topics and Presenters

Insider, Christophe Flament

Christophe‘s presentation will include how to best use Insider,
Insider’s gotchas, how to move forms from one table to another using
version 2003 or 2004, and Insider’s evolution in 4D v11 SQL

Business Process Analysis, A Case Study Workshop, Todd Nicholls

Todd’s presentation will follow one of three tracks, depending on the
interests of the participants, and the available time:
1. Participants bring up a client’s business process, Todd and the
participants will document the business process. In the course of
work shopping the case, complications that came up in the real world
implementation will be examined to see if the Business Process
Analysis might have made it possible to anticipate the complication
to prevent it from occurring.
2. A look at the business process review as conducted at Eileen
Fisher, a company with 300+ employees and $250 million in annual sales.
3. An overview of Business Process Analysis (goals, concepts,
methodologies), and its impact upon the development process

The evening's proposed schedule is as follows*:

7:30 Meet and Greet
7:40 Christophe Flament: Insider
8:25 Todd Nicholls: Business Process Analysis, Case Study Workshop
9:30 Meeting ends, adjourn to a local establishment for talk, food
and drink.

* times other than the start time and end time of the meeting are
flexible, depending on the presenters and participants preferences.
