4D Summit 2007 / 4D v11 Overview

For this month's meeting Christophe Flament, Charles Newcomb, Jay  
Harper, and Gary Brocks,  will provide an  overview of 4D Summit  
2007 /  4D v11 SQL, through a series of short presentations on  
select topics. These presentations will be followed by a panel  
discussion on the summit and 4D v11 SQL. Future NYCR4DUG meetings  
will provide lengthier, in depth, presentations on each of the topics  
covered, as well as other 4D v11 SQL topics.

If you were not able to attend the summit, this is an opportunity to
get information from people who attended. If you did attend, this is
an opportunity to share what you learned, recap what you learned,
and to get information from sessions that you were not able to
attend.

The evening's proposed schedule is as follows*:

7:30 Meet and Greet
7:40 Christophe Flament: Moving to v11
7:55 Charles Newcomb: The new architecture for components
8:10 Jay Harper: DB performance in v11 SQL - what's optimized, and  
what's not optimized...
8:25 Charles Newcomb: The changes to resources
8:40 Jay Harper: The pros and cons of the different Web 1.0 and Web  
2.0 solutions for 4D (Ajax, Flex, regular web templates, etc.)
8:55 Gary Brocks: Using new v11 List Box capabilities (demo)
9:05 Panel discussion and Q&A
9:30 Meeting ends, adjourn to a local establishment for talk, food
and drink.

* times other than the start time and end time of the meeting are
flexible, depending on the presenters and participants preferences.

Near by subway lines:
E or V trains to Lexington Ave station (at 53rd Street)
4, 5, or 6 trains to the 59th Street station (on Lexington Avenue),  
then walk south on Lexington Avenue. 6 train to the 51 Street station  
(on Lexington Avenue), walk north 2 blocks.

The entrance to Saint Peter's Church is on 54th Street between  
Lexington Ave and 3rd Avenue. Upon entering you will see the  
reception desk. Let the receptionist know that you are there for the  
NYC4DUG meeting.

Take the elevator (on your left) down to level LL2 / Theater Level.  
When you reach the Theater Level, walk straight through the lobby,  
and though a set of reddish fire doors. After walking though the fire  
doors, continue up a short flight of stairs (about 6 steps) and  
continue straight ahead to the 2nd door on the right, the door for  
the Committee Room.
