4D Inc. Releases 4D v11 SQL Release 1 (11.1)

4D is pleased to announce the release of 4D v11 SQL Release 1 (11.1). This
version is fully certified for Mac OS X Leopard. Developers can now use the
latest 4D application to build business applications for the latest version
of both Macintosh and Windows operating systems.

In addition, 4D v11 SQL Release 1 (11.1) includes support for the Japanese
language in both new and existing databases, as well as in the application
interface. This release also includes a new set of commands to help
developers analyze and optimize queries, extended support for Unicode that
will allow developers to mix different languages in the same application
menu, better control over case-sensitivity in the SQL Engine, and better
compatibility in the print engine. A number of bug fixes are also included
in this release. A more complete list of changes and fixes can be found at
<http://www.4d.com/products/new.html>

“4D v11 SQL has been extremely stable and robust since its initial release,”
said Laurent Ribardière, Chairman and Founder of 4D SAS. “This new version
allows us to offer its benefits to a broader range of developers and
platforms, as well as to fulfill our commitment to deliver an easy, powerful
development platform.”

This update is available free of charge to all licensed 4D v11 SQL users.
Pricing for the 4D v11 SQL product line starts at $349. Upgrade pricing for
owners of 4D 2003 and 4D 2004 are also available, and all Partner discounts
apply.

4D + php

Hi!

We have a 4D Server 2003 and need to connect a php-based web page (on
another network) to the database.
So, the web page should be able to query the 4D Server and show the
results to the user.
Anyone knows a good starting point for this ?

Thanks

Jorge Prates

Jorge,

Just use a soap library like NuSoap to call web services that you have
defined in 4D.  If you're familiar with web services it should be easy.

Third-Party Plug-ins Registration

I have installed the PrintList Pro bundle and placed the registration
key in Startup.  But when I compile and open 4th Dimension it states
that there is a license error.  Could someone give me some suggestions
on this?  I using version 2004.5.

If you're compiling for both platforms, be sure you have license code
for each included in the PL_Register command at startup.

If you only need to deploy on a single platform, you can set that in
the 4D Preferences Compiler panel
