I am very happy to announce the formal release of SCPlugin version
0.7.2.

Release notes may be found at:
   http://scplugin.tigris.org/svn/scplugin/tags/0.7.2/support/ReadMe.rtf

Key improvements include:
  - Support for Subversion version 1.5 (see Installation Notes, below!)
  - Significant performance improvements, particularly when posting
the contextual menu for the first time
  - Significant improvements in handling credentials (user name and
password) in a much wider variety of situations
  - Display of Subversion properties in the "Info" box
  - Improvements in the controls and auto-personalization of many
dialogs

Installation Notes

It is very important for all Subversion users to note that Subversion
1.5 working copies are incompatible with Subversion 1.4 working copies
(as also were SVN 1.4 working copies incompatible with SVN 1.3).
While the Subversion community holds and maintains a very high
standard for client-to-server compatibility, such that any SVN 1.x
client has always and will always work with any SVN 1.x server,
compatibility of the local working copy is only guaranteed in the
"forward" direction.  That is, an older working copy will be
automatically and silently upgraded, the first time you use a newer
client, but a new (or upgraded) working copy cannot be used with older
tools.  As a result, you will need to think a bit about your use
patterns, before upgrading:

  - If you only use one copy of Subversion (which I guess must be
SCPlugin, since you're reading this), then you have no problem: use
the latest and greatest.  Download SCPlugin-0.7.2-1.5.0.dmg from our
Documents and Files area (along with its *.sig GPG signature, for
verification), install it, and off you go.

  - If you use more than one Subversion tool (SCPlugin and also the
command-line tool, perhaps, or clients such as svnX which run the
command-line tool "under the hood"), then check to see if all your
copies have SVN 1.5 versions available.  You might want to wait until
that happens, then upgrade them all at once.  Or, you might want to
upgrade the ones you can, and just "remember" not to mix the old and
new tools.

If you do mix tools the wrong way, you'll get a message telling you
"this client is too old for this working copy."  When that happens,
there is a script provided by Subversion (and installed into /usr/
local/bin/ by SCPlugin), called change-svn-wc-format.py, which can be
used to "downgrade" a working copy to SVN 1.4, so you can use the old
tools.  Just do something like this:

  - cd workingcopy
  - change-svn-wc-format.py . 1.4

If you'd like the new SCPlugin features, but still need a Subversion
1.4 version, that's available too.  Just download, verify, and install

   SCPlugin-0.7.2-1.4.6.dmg
   SCPlugin-0.7.2-1.4.6.dmg.sig

And don't forget, we're always happy to hear from you in users@...
.  Let us know how the new version works for you!

Any changes since the 0.7.2 candidate?  Should we download the final
one?

No, the candidate posted about a week ago is exactly the same as the
final -- I just moved the files around.
