I've not see it, but CrystalTech uses the Serv-U FTP Server (an
off-the-shelf server) - the bug is apparently in there.

If you're on a dedicated box you could enable the built-in Windows server to
upload the file.

application memory pool issues

We're getting a bunch of Application Pool errors under IIS 6.0 on our
production machine.  Sites are suddenly not working or intermittently
responding.  Does anyone out there have any experience with AppPool
issues?

Lots of systems have reserved folder names.  If you're running windows, just try to create a PRN or CON folder.  :D

Well, I tried that, and for 7 hrs 59 minutes and 32 seconds I was
getting the message:
A subdirectory or file \\.\C:\con already exists.

Way to waste my day, Brad!

I have had problems when the sysadmin tried setting up a different
application pool for all of my CF sites on a server. Just my 2c worth, keep
all of your CF sites in the same IIS app pool.

Yeah...

Nathan and I were at a company where our sys admin made the decision to
create HUNDREDS of app pools on our servers.. it made a huge mess.

If you are not using .net, don't mess with the app pool. Have just the
default one.

Nate,

I do like a separate app pool for just CF and another for "just" .net....

Does CF (7) ever clear it's DNS cache, or does it have to be done via a
restart, please?

It has to be done via restart, by default.  It's actually the JVM that
does this caching, and it's configurable via a properties file.  I
can't remember which one off the top of my head.
